Why do I have a permanent notification when using Beacons or Networks?

If you are running on Android 8.0 or higher, you will have a permanent notification when using Beacons or Networks.  This will say something like "Scanning for Beacons" or "Scanning for Networks".

On Android 8.0 and higher, Android limits apps from doing work in the background more frequently than every 15 minutes.  In order to scan for Beacon and Network activity more frequently than every 15 minutes, we must run the app in a foreground service which would show a persistent notification.  This helps us keep your status up to date in a timely manner.

You can hide this notification!

Go into your device settings, go to Apps, find Simple In/Out.  Go to the App Notifications section.  Flip the switch off for 'Foreground Notification'.  Now the app will still do all of the work it needs to - it just wont bother you with the notification 24/7.
