Can I run FrontDesk on Windows?

You can run the Android version of FrontDesk on any Windows/Mac machine using an Android emulator. Any Android emulator should do the trick. Please keep in mind, these workarounds utilize software that is not produced by us.  Use at your own risk.

We recommend using BlueStacks as it is the easiest emulator to get up in running. This software is typically meant for running games. That is what their website mostly advertises. However, it can run our app just fine.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download and install Bluestacks from their website. After installing, the BlueStacks app will launch.
  2. Download the FrontDesk APK file.  This is the file Android devices use to install the application. The emulator doesn't have the Play Store so you need to download it from an external source.  There are plenty of sites online that will allow you to download an APK from your web browser that has been pulled from the Play Store. For example, apkmonk.com. Watch out for nasty ad popups and redirects when you are on these sites. If you are having troubles downloading the APK, please contact us.
  3. You should be able to double click the newly downloaded APK file. This will launch the BlueStacks App Player and run the app.
  4. In the future, you can launch the app using the new app icon on your desktop.

Additional BlueStacks Settings

  1. Select the Gear icon in the bottom right
  2. Settings -> Preferences -> Disable 'Allow BlueStacks to show Ads during gameplay'

  3. Settings -> Display

    This will allow you to change your resolution if you want to fit more users on the screen. Change the Resolution or Pixel density to your liking.
