What are Announcement Notifications?
Announcements can be created to notify users of important events in your organization. If selected, an announcement can trigger a notification sent directly to the users via the Simple In/Out apps for phone or desktop.
Creating Announcement Notifications
Announcements can only be created by users in a role that grants permission to manage announcements. Administrator users can choose which roles have this permission as well as which users are assigned to which roles. Announcements are created on simpleinout.com or within our apps.
When creating an announcement, the user can decide whether the announcement is important enough to immediately push a notification to the users in question. We recommend only pushing important announcements, otherwise users may choose to disable notifications if they are bombarded by less important messages.
Receiving Announcement Notifications
What platforms support announcement notifications?
Simple In/Out for Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows Desktop.
Can I limit who will receive announcement notifications?
Yes. Announcements can be created for a specific group or for everyone in the company.
Why aren't my users receiving announcement notifications?
A user may not receive the announcement notification for any of the following reasons:
- The user never gave Simple In/Out push notification permissions
- The user disabled push notifications from Simple In/Out in their system settings
- The user has announcement notifications disabled
- The notification is outside the user's Active Time setting
