How to enable Multi-Factor Authentication

To protect your account from unauthorized access, we recommend all users enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Simple In/Out supports MFA via device applications like Google Authenticator, 1Password, Microsoft Authenticator, or other options. This functionality is built into a lot of platforms now, like the Passwords app on iOS/Mac.

Once enabled, you will only be able to log into your Simple In/Out account if you know the email, password, and the proper 6 digit number that rotates in your authentication application of choice.

How to enable Multi-Factor Authentication

  1. Head to simpleinout.com and log in.
  2. Click Settings in the upper-right.
  3. Click Password & Security on the left.
  4. Click the Enable MFA button.
  5. Scan the QR code or type in the code into your authentication application of choice. After doing so, you'll have rotating 6 digit codes. Enter the current code into the Confirmation Code area to finish setup.
  6. IMPORTANT: copy or Download your Emergency Recovery Codes! These codes are the only way to access your Simple In/Out account if you lose the device with your authentication application of choice. Keep them in a safe place.
