Install FrontDesk/TimeClock on Windows 11

This option is no longer supported.

Microsoft is ending support for the Windows Subsystem for Android™️ (WSA). As a result, the Amazon Appstore on Windows and all applications and games dependent on WSA will no longer be supported beginning March 5, 2025.

Customers that have installed the Amazon Appstore or Android apps prior to March 5, 2024, will continue to have access to those apps through the deprecation date of March 5, 2025.

This is disappointing news; but there are alternative options.

If you wish to run FrontDesk/TimeClock on Windows, you will need to use some type of Android emulator. Here are instructions for doing so using BlueStacks.

With Microsoft's Windows Subsystem for Android, you can now run select Android apps right on your Windows 11 PC. We've developed both FrontDesk and TimeClock to run in this environment.

To run either FrontDesk or TimeClock on your Windows 11 PC, you need to install the Amazon App Store. The Amazon App Store and mobile app usage are only available in selected countries and regions. To find if your country or region is supported, go to Countries and regions that support Amazon Appstore on Windows.

Enable Virtualization

Virtualization allows your PC emulate a different operating system, like Android™ or Linux. These steps will help you enable virtualization.

Choose your PC manufacturer for specific instructions on enabling virtualization. If you don't see your manufacturer listed, refer to your device documentation. These are external links to the manufacturers' websites. If your PC manufacturer isn't listed or you're unsure who it is, you may be able to find instructions for your UEFI (or BIOS). Please refer to your device documentation. We have generic instructions here.
